‘The Children’s Monologues’ debuted at London’s Old Vic Theatre in 2010, and was revived at the Royal Court Theatre in 2015, the Market Theatre in Johannesburg in 2016, and Carnegie Hall in New York in 2017. Contributing writers include Sir David Hare, Sir Tom Stoppard, Lynn Nottage, Jack Thorne, Laura Wade and Dennis Kelly. Performers that have graced the Monologues stage under the direction of Danny Boyle include Sir Ben Kingsley, Nicole Kidman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hiddleston, Eddie Redmayne, and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

This production of The Children’s Monologues, inspired by the testimonies of children living in Rwanda and South Africa, will be performed by current ARU students in aid of Dramatic Need, the Mumford Theatre’s chosen charity.
